Network Variable Transmission Control

An output network variable that is bound to one or more network variable inputs on other devices needs to transmit its value periodically, especially when that value changes. However, an output network variable should not transmit its value too often or the network could become  overwhelmed with excess traffic.

Transmit control functions in the firmware and plug-ins allow you to limit the rate at which the network variable is updated over the network. This limiting action is performed by the device or functional block on which the bind originates which controls the network variable’s transmit interval. To accomplish this control, the firmware obeys the three communications settings described below.
